V-tech or JMU

I was accepted to both school and i really can't decide which school to go to. I think they are academically similar levels. I haven't decided my major yet

Which college should I choose? Here are some pros and cons about each college

V-tech
Pro: big school, beautiful campus, well-known school, many people, good engineering programs

Con: Too far from cities, too many people might be downside

JMU
Pro: fairly large school, known as party school, 70% girls! (yey lol), close to cities (DC is about 2 hours away)

Con: No car is allowed first year, not well known outside of VA

I really can't decide..

and RIP to those who died in terrible shooting at V-tech....... We will never forget you

its really on 60% female. personally i would pick JMU, cuz well i did. i was accepeted at both and chose JMU. i just like it better. i had already made me decision before the 16th. also, not having a car for a year really wont be that bad. i know plenty of people who attend JMU and say a car isnt really needed. the good thing is that you cant go wrong with either school. go with your gut feeling.

haha half my school is going through the vtech or jmu decision time right now. they both are in the middle of nowhere. jmu is a little more populated.

Vtech gives you that more well known school name and it has an amazing football team. JMU does have less students but it sounds like you think a larger student body is a plus. VT is not that far from a city if you consider Roanoke (about 30 min. away or so) but JMU is closer to DC. I have personally gone through this decision a week ago and decided on VT because I love football and the way the buildings look at VT.

P.S. You should consider how you reacted to the tragedy. I saw the students of VT handle themselves extremely well in front of the media and felt they were very professional in their approach. Do you fear defending your school from controversy or maybe you are comfortable that it was a single random act that could have happened anywhere? This should be at least thought about.
