Validation of a D?

So I am currently a senior in High School and have already applied to several Cal States. My GPA is 3.25 and I have a 1260 SAT with a 27 ACT and a few APs. However, last year I received a D BOTH semesters in my Algebra 2 class. And just recently we took our trigonometry finals. I had a C in Trig. but poor performance on the final pushed me to a 69%. My question is: would a C or higher next semester validate these Ds or does bombing this semester ruin my chances? If so how can I work with CSU to fix my situation? Thank you.

This is the CSU Validation:

CSU Math Validation
Satisfactory completion of Algebra II (intermediate) will validate Algebra 1 (elementary), but will NOT validate geometry.
Satisfactory completion of a statistics course for which Algebra II is a stated prerequisite can validate both years of algebra, but NOT geometry. The CSU high school requirements in mathematics (algebra 1, geometry, and intermediate algebra) may be validated with higher-level college preparatory mathematics courses such as trigonometry, analytic geometry or calculus. Integrated math studies that appear on the UC “a-g” list will satisfy the subject requirements certified on the UC list. CSU policy allows for a maximum of two (2) semesters worth of credit for Algebra 1-classified classes, regardless of how many semesters were taken. This applies to two-year Algebra 1 classes offered at some high schools.

So if you get a D in Trignometry, it will not validate a D in Algebra 2 which is an a-g course requirement and you will not meet the minimum CSU requirements. If you can get your D up to a C 2nd semester, then your C in Trig could validate your D 1st semester but may not validate the D’s for Algebra 2.

You really need to meet with your HS counselor and also contact the Cal States to clarify since you have 3 semesters of D’s in your required Math classes. Many will rescind an acceptance for any grades lower than a C Senior year.
