Validations within major

Ok my second question - sorry about taking up the space.

New Cadet could validate out of intro course in intended major. Would like to in order to get jump on another course for second of double major. Was advised by faculty not to do so, who believes would be better to take all required major courses at WP. He would be placed with others who could have validated, so course will be stimulating and advanced but an interesting and smoother good grade to facilitate higher GPA. Said wouldn't really miss the extra elective until First Year, but would only allow for a minor not double major.

Do any insiders have any thoughts either way?

I just remember the supe at our R day briefing, addressing the question of a second major,

"It is possible to do but not advisable....The Army is their second major."

Second Major=tough, doable but way tough! But, you have TONS of required courses, and if you have the chance to take another elective in the course you're interested, or something like that...it's nice. I'd say, if you can validate it, validate it, and take an additional course in the the major you choose later on.

If faculty recommended against validating, I would trust his/her recommendation.
