Hi there…wondering if anyone has any idea if choice of college or major makes a difference in one’s chances for admission?
Specifically, for a male applicant that is interested in both Peabody (Human and Organizational Development) and Arts and Sciences (Latin American Studies). He would be equally happier with either.
Anyone know if either choice would make it easier to get accepted?
@collegemomjam I don’t know the specifics as to your second question, but the college you apply to absolutely has bearing on admissions. Just look at Blair—your decision will be primarily based on audition, very different than the other three schools.
Thanks @albertsax
So do you know if it’s harder to get in to Peabody as a Human and Organizational Dev. major or Arts and Sciences as a humanities major, like Latin American Studies? Any opinion? For a male?
@collegemomjam
When I said I didn’t know the specifics to your second question, that’s what I was referring to. I’m not interested in either of those majors so I haven’t done research on admissions relating to them.
I do believe that Peabody admits by major, whereas Arts and Science (no “s”) does not. So you’d be looking at HOD vs. A&S overall.
I noticed that they sent out another response form today, but did they ever release a second wave? Or will that be coming soon? I know they also sent out a response form on May 9th, so I thought the second wave would have come out soon after that one…
@Khaverlo People posted in the Waitlisted thread on May 13 about getting accepted, http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/2133957-wait-listed-at-vanderbilt-class-2023-p7.html
@ScienceInMA thank you for the info! For some reason I had never seen that thread before.
