I consider myself a fairly eloquent writer and I worked on it for about two months.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):

Teacher Rec #1: I never read my first one from my Pre-AP/AP Biology teacher but she had nominated me for numerous awards in the past so I’m thinking it was pretty good.
Teacher Rec #2: From my AP Lang/Comp teacher, I’d give it a 6. It was slightly generic but very complementary
Counselor Rec: Again, I never read it but assumed it must of been pretty good.
Additional Rec: I had one from my Key Club advisor that I would give an 8 or 9, it spoke a ton about leadership and student involvement and another from my general advisor (we have a huge advisory program at my school) that I would give an 8 as well.
Interview: There was a technical error that prevented my request from reaching an alumni in my area so I never did one.

Ethnicity: Caucasian
Gender: Female
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): No

Reflection

Strengths: My GPA and community service were both really strong and my application was pretty well rounded overall
Weaknesses: I didn’t have enough leadership and I only started golf my junior year.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my essay was a major part of why I was accepted, everyone who read it said it was one of the best admissions essay they’ve ever read
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I hadn’t got any results back yet, this was my only ED

General Comments:
I am so thrilled to be accepted, honestly I was really unsure whether or not I could do it but my biggest piece of advice to students looking to apply to Vandy is to know that they are truly holistic in their admission process so make sure that you are focusing on sports/music/community service/things other that just grades.

Bump for people who keep posting in the wrong thread haha.

@CollegePanda96‌ whoaa you got in with those stats! makes me feel hopeful :o. if only I applied early decision sigh

@CollegePanda96 thanks so much for this thread. I’m a rising senior, and Vandy is my top choice BY FAR. I plan to study electrical engineering. Honestly seeing some of the RD threads have been terrifying for me, but this one gives me hope because I am planning to apply ED1 as long as the net price calculator gives me a good price.
I also live in TN(Nashville, to be specific), and I am doing all I can to appeal to Vandy. I already have several leadership positions, volunteer hours, and extracurriculars under my belt. I am hoping that taking dual credit courses at Lipscomb University in the fall will help me since Lipscomb and Vandy have a pretty good relationship.
