@casey1999 wow we’re so relatable! It was especially hard today cuz everyone was praying for a close friend who applied ed2 to uchicago since they’re getting theirs tomorrow too, and I was just in the corner like ‘guyz can you pray for me too…?’
To those who were freaking out about the 551 members of the official vanderbilt fb admitted students group that not all of them are in the freshman class. My friend at Carnegie Mellon told me that she is in this years admitted students fb group so that got me thinking that the same case could be for the Vanderbilt fb group. Anyway chances are looking up now!
Good luck guys
@therealdeal23 thanks for the link.
@Failing2017 It’s okay, we’re here for you! It was a good idea not to let anyone know about your decision to apply. Kinda wishing I had kept my mouth shut too…so tomorrow is the day, huh? How are you all feeling?
Feeling like, somebody is stabbing me in my stomach, I think that is due to some ailment though.
Good luck folks. How you receive the news you are hoping for
Anyone else not being able to concentrate on anything else today?
Me!
@Loyal0learner are you getting up early tomorrow or staying up?
@harveyspectator staying up till 5:30 AM, Insane man.
I wouldn’t have considered staying up till then but I anyway was staying up for the Bayern vs Arsenal match so I figure if I’m not dead by then I’ll be up another one hour.
Also, isn’t it 4:30?
@harveyspectator yes it will be 4:30am in India
staying up for Bayern v Arsenal too #COYG
@harveyspectator I think it will be 5:00 AM
@Yman66 yelp.
Going to get some sleep then. I can’t possibly be awake till 5. If I had a chance at Vandy I might’ve even sat up.
It’s all about finding fit. I’m sure there are plenty of liberal arts majors with high math and science scores. Engineers do require a pretty high degree of mathematical aptitude, or they won’t be able to compete with others in their classes. Physics is also key for that group as well.
@harveyspectator Hey! Don’t be so discouraged or whatever the word is for that feeling. You know you do have chance, otherwise why would you had troubled yourself with an extra 400 worded essay, application fee and all that…Cheer up buddy!
Although do sleep too. May the force be with us!
Yeah for sure man!
Are you planning on staying up?
@harveyspectator I’ll sleep… And get up late probably…I sacrificed my sleep last time only to get rejected… Wouldn’t Wanna do that again.
Does anyone know if it can hurt you to apply for a major that your scores don’t reflect? So I got a 35 on english and a 34 on reading, then 29 and 30 for math and science. However, I plan on majoring in biochemistry. This is because I know that even though im “good” at reading and writing, I really dont have a passion for it. Im way more into science and can actually see myself doing that for my whole life. Would applying for a major like english or poli sci have increased my chances of getting in? Obviously a 29 and 30 is not anywhere near bad… but I’m worried that compared to the 34-35 kids I wont look as good. I just couldn’t commit myself to a major I wouldn’t love.
