Vanderbilt ED2 Discussion Thread Class of 2021

https://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/vandybloggers/

@vaibhavm99 I have a 1430 on the new SAT, 800 on math 2, 750 on physics and 82% in 11th (CBSE). I’m not getting my hopes high, many qualified students get rejected and I’ve had my fair share of rejections so far (Acc-1, Rej-1, Def-1). All the very best to your brother, hope we all get in. Besides, you’ve got it clear with admissions being need-blind for you; yeah, i’m asking for a lot of financial aid(read, ~30K $ PA).

@Loyal0learner you’re a really really strong applicant. 82% in CBSE is godlike as far as I know. +that’s a great sat score too. Best of luck! I think you have a solid chance even with the aid since Vandy is pretty generous with it.

Also, @Loyal0learner do you know anyone else from India who got accepted?

@vaibhavm99 Thank you for your support. And, no I don’t know anyone else who was accepted this year.

okay cool. I don’t even know anyone other than you who applied ED2
that’s a pretty low number from a country like India

Does anyone have any idea when the decisions will be released? Looking historically, it should come out on the 10th. But we can’t really be sure until someone calls and confirms I guess (?)

@vaibhavm99 I don’t think it would make sense for them to release decisions on a Wednesday (15th). The past few years, it’s either been on a Thursday or Friday for both ED 1 and 2…so it must be the 10th. We’ll find out by tomorrow though (they’ll send us an email).
Starting to get nervous!

Waiting on ED2 decision. Accepted UNC EA, waiting on Wake Forest, Emory, BC, BU, NE and Brown. Cannot wait to know where I will end up in the fall!

@nat7531 exactly. Wednesday is completely out of the blue. I can’t remember when was the last time they didn’t do it on a Thursday or Friday. I really hope it’s on the 10th. I’ve been procrastinating on finals preparation because of this.

Also, for some reason, the ED2 thread is so lacklustre in comparison to ED1. I hope they admit a decent number of people, though.

I know I just want people to talk more on this! I’m soooo nervous and I really want to get in so badly! Maybe this means there are less ED2 applicants. Hope that is the case, so it might easier to be accepted.

If you’re applying to engineering or as a math or science major, your scores are very good.

@vaibhavm99 I hope the procrastination ends up being worth it for you!!

@stressedsenior99 It’s wishful thinking, but maybe you’re right

So are we looking at the 10th for decisions?

I hope so!

@Swimmer726 Do engineering / math / science have higher requirements than other majors? Who was that comment directed to?

I called admissions a few hours back and they said “There’s a good chance it will come earlier than 15th”. How early, they didn’t say.

Could anyone call admissions now and ask them too? It’d be better to have more POV’s. Maybe someone else might spill the beans (?)

Hopeful but also terrified that today is the day we are going to get that notification email and see that blog post
