@koreanamericano i just received mine in the mail today
Anybody from the second wave get a decision yet?
@polyscidreamer nothing and now, I have no hope for this university ;-;
PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY PLEASE ;-;
@polyscidreamer Nope, nothing.
Several pages back we pointed out the second wave will take some time.
My eldest was accepted in the 2nd wave on May 8th, two years ago.
It may be tough, but try to stay busy with other stuff for the next 8 days or so.
@bloomfield88 Did your son enroll at Vandy? If so, did/does he experience any transfer ‘stigma’ there? There been some conjecture that transfers at Vandy don’t have as high stats as freshman Admittees and are the subject of some grief from non-transfer students. What’s interesting is the early decision freshman acceptance rate-comprising half of the entire school- is almost identical to the transfer acceptance rate.
Can’t believe any of that matters. There is ED, legacies, recruited athletes, transfers, etc. Don’t think it matters how you got there. I think it matters what you do with the opportunity when you’re there.
@PBMAX1 Good question. Stigma? To the contrary. My daughter couldn’t believe how accepting everyone was. By the 2nd semester she was a TA in a class she had 1st semester, was already an officer in a club, was playing sports in a sorority (her top 3 sororities offered bids, so they had no transfer issues), and was continuing with similar community service to her previous university. She spent that Maymester on a course in London taught by her favorite professor. By her 2nd year, she was accepted to her top 2 study-abroads, but decided to stay at Vanderbilt, because she was having so much fun, is determined to live overseas some day, and didn’t want to miss any Vanderbilt courses. Three weeks later, the head coach of an SEC sport watched her play and asked her to come to practice. Three practices later they handed her all this Vanderbilt swag and welcomed her to the team. The next thing you know she was flying on chartered flights and getting real minutes playing Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, etc… She is living in the brand new, awesome dorm with 3 non-transfer, non-athletes that are great friends. She’ll graduate on-time with a Major in Economics, a Minor in Psychology and a Minor in Business. She told me she is only upset that she has to graduate in 2020.
@bloomfield88 Thanks for the response- and the impressive resume- now can you get me into that dorm? ;-D
@user0523 do the people in the admissions office tell you that they may pull ppl off the waitlist during second wave? It would be exciting if that’s true!
@sssss123123 he didn’t say that explicitly, but he did say waitlist people can expect to start hearing in “as little as two weeks” when I called on Friday.
@user0523 I see. Thanks for the info! Trying hard to not get my hopes up lol
I still haven’t received a decision.
@IndirectProofs Does not look good for us 2nd wavers
Are we thinking today for the second wave?
If today were the second wave, what time would they come out? 5?
Why are we thinking today??
If the deposit is due on the 9th i believe that decisions are more likely to come out this week then next where we would only have less than 4 days to pay the large deposit
