Vanderbilt Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

me too. with my luck im going to be waiting this long only to be rejected haha

@kemery09 I got a similar (even lower tbh ?) score on the SAT in high school and took the ACT as a college student and did better. If you can afford to take the ACT multiple times, Vanderbilt now superscores it too. But tbh I didnā€™t do great on either test but Iā€™ve still gotten into some great schools, so try not to let your test score discourage you!!! No matter what school it is, you will find your place

@kemery09 I think you have a great chance! Especially considering your 21, I assume you are an incoming Junior. With that being said, I think they evaluate your coursework from college more and put less weight on your high school test scores. Also even though you are from CC, in contrast to what that other person said, your GPA is solid, despite your busy life and from what I can tell, shows you have a hard work ethic. Regardless of Vandyā€™s decision, I believe you will be successful and awesome wherever you are. I really hope they accept you!

Maybe today is the day?

waiting too long on a rejection, false hope is a nasty thing

Hopefully

When are the days that Vanderbilt traditionally releases itā€™s acceptances? Is it usually on a Thursday?

so the CSU system just announced that theyā€™ll be closed for the fall semester and have online classesā€¦if other schools around the country follow suit, i donā€™t know if im going to bother transferring. as a rising junior idk if it makes sense to transfer if im only gonna be at a new school for 3 semesters, and i was gonna do a domestic study abroad program for a semester in my senior year if i stayed at my current college anyway. also have no idea if this situation is why colleges are delaying transfer decisions. everything feels super up in the air now

Oh my gosh, thatā€™s not good news! This is such a weird time to be trying to transfer! Itā€™s definitely weird for every college student rn, but I canā€™t imagine having to start at a new school online, especially knowing I only have 2.5 years left of college. My head is spinning

@ebeckins2020 Iā€™m in the exact same position-rising junior, transfer, study abroad and all. Iā€™ve been thinking it through for months, and literally still donā€™t know what Iā€™m gonna do.

Same here. Iā€™m pretty sure iā€™m going to withdraw my app because of all of this.

@gracegoeswhere literally same idk what im going to do! this is so crazy

did anyone send this semesterā€™s final grades?

I feel like this Thursday might be the day, since they usually release decisions on Thursday.

ok nvm Iā€™m withdrawing my app, I hope I got accepted so my spot could go to someone else :ā€™) Good luck everyone! <3

@CHVRCHES Good luck wherever you end up attending. :relaxed: Did you withdraw by emailing admissions or your specific admissions counselor? Not seeing a withdraw option unless I overlooked it. Thanks

@SatanFlower69 Thanks so much! I committed to Northwestern, which was my first choice from the beginning hehe. I just emailed my advisor!

So do we think tomorrow is the day or next week?

I think weā€™re all done with the speculation gameā€¦ theyā€™ll come when they come. Annoying to be resigned to that attitude, but shrug

Haha, I agree. So far weā€™ve NEVER been right ?
