Vanderbilt Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

anyone know when decisions will come out?

@cusnew 2019 decisions were released on 04/25 so possibly sometime in the last two weeks of this month.

im concerned cuz my counselor ghosted me but its probably because of COVID-19 since replies from them are usually very quick but it was regarding my application so yikes

Hey guys, so I got rejected by Vandy for ed2. Does anyone know if you do not even get waitlisted, does that mean transfer is very unlikly?

Are AP scores mandatory to send/report for transfer applicants? On common app, I didnā€™t report it because I thought AP scores are reviewed after you are matriculated into a university & thatā€™s when they see if you have transferable credits.

I donā€™t know the odds. I can say my middle child was rejected by Vandy ED. She was not waitlisted.

She put a chip on her shoulder, and used the rejection as motivation. She attained a 3.9 her freshman year elsewhere and transferred to Vandy. She loves Vanderbilt.

Vandy knows someone with a great resume, who expresses keen interest a second time after rejection, and already proved herself at college level with a 3.8-4.0 is actually a safe bet for future success.

Good luck, everyone! I applied to Vandy as a transfer last year, and I got my decision on 4/25. There arenā€™t any indications or anything of when theyā€™re coming. Itā€™s just a guessing game. They come in waves too so not everyone will get their decision at the same time

@Ashtash did you get in last year?

Hi! I applied to Vanderbilt to transfer for next semester as well. I know the decisions are released in wavesā€¦ Iā€™m not sure if anyone would know the answer to this, but I wondering if the applicants who submitted their applications first would be the ones to hear back first, or if itā€™s just random? In the past few years, it seems like the first wave has been announced anywhere from April 18th to April 25th or so. So itā€™s possible maybe next week could be the first round but I am not sure if COVID-19 will have any effect on that this year. Personally feel like I am going to go crazy waiting. Oh boy

@transfergirl2020 Thatā€™s a good question. Iā€™m sure if you submitted everything very early in the process then theyā€™re going to get to it first. Iā€™m pretty sure I read they have priority decision if you apply before March 15th? Northwestern was supposed to come out last week but they didnā€™t (they broke their trend of 4/5 years I believe). So at this point who knows if colleges are going to stick to their usual dates. Letā€™s hope they do haha.

@cusnew Yes

@Ashtash How has it been as a transfer? Iā€™ve applied! Hoping to hear good news. Are you trying to transfer out?

@cusnew I actually applied to a bunch of places, so I ended up elsewhere. But Vandy was my 2nd choice.

I did make some friends that ended up going to Vandy from the transfer FB group, and they look like theyā€™re having a blast.

Nope, Iā€™m not trying to transfer out. I just check up on here from time to time to see if there are any questions I can answer

Any word on if its going to be today or the 25th?

Hi I transferred to Vanderbilt last fall if anyone has any questions !

@rebeccac1234 what makes you think decisons will be released on a Saturday?

Based off previous threads I think it will be the 23rd or 30th.

Does anyone else visit this forum wondering why it isnā€™t very active. The 2019 transfer forum for Vandy is 41 pagesā€¦

Yes! I was just saying this today about both schools I applied to for transferring. I look at the forums from last year, and they are soooooo full in comparison. Maybe less people applied to transfer in 2020? Thereā€™s always just the possibility that less people participate in CC, but I find it so strange

I think it might be the latter than the former @SophTaf on some other threads people are starting to come out of the woods lol.
