do you guys think that’s the end of the waitlist acceptances?
Put another way, how long do you have to commit if you got off WL yesterday?
Only reason why I think these might be the last acceptances because I was on the phone with my AO sometime back before anyone got accepted off the WL and she said they were looking to fill their transfer class by July 4th. Also, someone who got off the waitlist previously said that they had until July 4th to commit, so I’m pretty sure there won’t be any more acceptances.
I reached out and they said I’d have a decision by July 14th.
@kingkenaz thank you for letting me. So we will all hear back by then?
*know
@bamba2208 Thats what the email said. If you don’t hear back by then I’d email them for sure.
Such a long wait!
A friend of a friend is a Vandy Professor. In a faculty meeting, they said a lot of international students won’t be coming back. I don’t know if the school expected this months ago and already accepted transfers accordingly or if it opens more spots.
@TNcuriousmom They would’ve had to have been extremely naive to think that international enrollment would be the same next year.
I don’t know if you guys heard, but ICE recently released a statement about how international students basically can only stay if they are studying at a college that is 100% in-person. Bascially, ICE is screwing international students over, so I think many universities including Vandy are freaking the F out, so probs waiting on what to do with the waitlist as one of their many concerns.
I thought ICE said international students whose universities move to online setting only must transfer or leave the US. Not if it is 100% in person.
@covid19sux I saw that too. International students tend to pay full tuition (I believe) and it would seem as if this new policy would almost guarantee the majority of international students do not return this fall. That being said, it would only make sense that Vandy accepts more transfer students this year than they ever would under normal circumstances because they would need more people to pay tuition and also would want to keep their student body count normal.
I got off the waitlist on June 19th and recently sent in Health documents. When do we pay the tuition and when do we register for classes? I’d really appreciate it if someone can answer this.
Has anyone talked to their AO since the ICE ruling?
Did anyone get another waitlist email update today to see if we would like to stay on the waitlist? I thought they were done but are they still going to take people off the waitlist?
@thelegitbrian same here
So it appears several people got emails today asking if they wanted to stay on the WL.
What is the deadline to respond?
The question, of course, is does this mean more acceptances off WL are possible? Do they ever just notify you and say Wait List is over and closed. Thanks but no thanks?!
@TNcuriousmom did you not receive the email? The email should tell you when you need to reply by…
DDL is July 16. The contents in the email is identical with previous one.
Received the email last week, responded but nothing more. Curious about deadline for the email this week as it may signal next wave.
