Vanderbilt Transfer Thread [Fall 2017]

@HopefullyIGetIn Last year nobody got off the waitlist. Not a single person. It was horrible and I think it’s worse than getting rejected.

its weird cuz last year it started today

i know they have a ton of new adcons so they might be behind?

@somehmonggirl Lord save my soul. Please do not put me on waitlist lol.

Also I wouldn’t lose hope for today yet. Its still relatively early and I think that evidence is circumstantial at best

I’d give it a few more hours

It’s inteesting that they put up that transfer article, that makes me think that it would be today. That and the historic trend (1st wave has been 1st or 2nd monday of april).
But the response from the admissions lady and the fact that we havent had any portal changes/problems indicates otherwise.

Strategically, I think they would have to start today. If there are 3 waves in April that contain mostly acceptances for the sake of receiving a deposit from students in those waves, today would be the day to start.

Or I’m overthinking this whole thing. Who knows?

I like @JSPHHAN 's reasoning. Starting today would be a wise move when you consider the advantage of having accepted students confirm their spots.

or maybe vandy is late for their schedule this year

no your reasoning is solid. Of course that’s assuming that their will be 3 waives, a week apart, all in april. But I do think your reasoning is solid

Also, if anybody I know just happens to send me an email at 4:00, I might have to never talk to them again

Yea please give it more hours. April 15th was the second wave releasing date last year so I do not think they would wait until then to release the first wave this year. Also, Vandy’s transfer admission decisions are made way simpler and faster than those of the freshman admission: each counselor decides whether his/her applicants are in or not and they do not even need to hold a council/meeting for the decision.

So fun story, I decided to look at the old Penn thread just like you guys told me not to, and a guy with a 2340 SAT, 4.00 GPA, and a bunch of ECs got rejected and tbh I now just wanna like withdraw all of my applications and cry : (

@PsychPRC dang. That’s totally different than what we talked about b4. CRAP

@VaishS Don’t give up hope! That was most definitely an anomaly of some sort. All we can do at the moment is have faith!

I may be wrong though… hang in there!

and recommendation letters/strength of schedule. This is stuff that seperates the maybes from the accept, especially at a school like UPenn with a sub 10% acceptance rate.

P.S. I have to admit that last night at 3 AM I was looking through old Vandy transfer threads. I cant control myself ethier

@PsychPRC that’s so different than how most colleges do it. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing
