Could be more Vandy is becoming more and more desired. Regardless with almost 28 thousand applicants and only around 2500 admits…who knows.
It was right about this hour that last year’s class heard back, with someone reporting “4:18PM” (EST) as the time they received an email.
It’s not as if Vandy has only recently become desirable.
Last year they admitted 398 transfers. If they took the same number this year, then to drop even just to a 25% acceptance rate would mean almost a 20% increase in applications. That sort of thing normally only happens with a major change to the application process.
True but there are levels to this ish.
If you are a Vanderbilt Admission Counselor reading this,
Please DON’T WAITLIST ME!
Does Vanderbilt accept transfers off of the waitlist at all?
I know I will most likely be rejected but I almost have a heart attack now
my heartbeat has multiplied by so much because I read this page of the thread.
@cctransferer Last year they did not admit a single person off the waitlist. Direct info that multiple admissions counselors told me and the few others who I knew were also waitlisted.
@CCTransferer Probably not. based on past 5 years, Vandy didn’t accept anyone off the waitlist
I seeeeerriuuooouuusssly doubt decisions today since it’s already 3:14 and nothing apparently… but eh who knows…
Who has S. McGuire as their counselor?
Aye, cap’n @SunZhaoyu
While that trend can change this year, if I were to get waitlisted, I’ll just move on. I’d accept the spot obviously but I won’t expect anything at all to come from it and focus on my other decisions.
@SunZhaoyu Me. He won’t come back until May 1st.
@AGoodFloridian that’s easier said then done. to just accept the spot and “move on”.
@inordie
In that case our applications should be read by other counselors right?
@HopefullyIGetIn Nahhh like honestly when I was on the waitlist I was very stressed about it until like June then I seriously did move on and didn’t feel super distressed when they closed the waitlist in July.
@HopefullyIGetIn Normally I’d agree with that, but knowing that absolutely NO ONE from the waitlist was accepted last year, moving on is really the only rational move to make. Accepting the spot is O.K. but it’d be unhealthy to be obsessing over it at that point.
I’ve said it before, transfer admissions is a fickle thing. While I do have my top choices, at the end of the day all I need is one “yes”. Just one, and I’m outta here <3
Geez this “abnormal pattern” is killing me. I have been keeping refreshing my boyfriend’s status page everyday during work hours since last Monday… And I was not even 1/10 as nervous last year when I applied myself.
