It’s alright everyone. Just remember that your fellow transfers will always be by your side!

I guess this means that a lot of Vandy freshmen admits also don’t approve of the naturalization process for citizenship lol. But in all seriousness, as Chicago said, we’ll have to stick together and make it work. This is something that a lot of us want very badly, so I don’t plan on letting this experience get ruined by a difference of circumstance.

^ amen and amen! I’m pretty sure if you’re at least a little social and don’t smell too bad you’ll make friends… if someone doesn’t want to be your friend because you’re a transfer then they probably wouldn’t be a good friend anyway! I’ll be your friend!!! :)

To be honest, who cares what people think? In the end, we’re all getting the same Vanderbilt degree so you can’t say one is better than another. I agree with Keloughr; if someone doesn’t want to befriend you because you’re a transfer, they probably wouldn’t be a good friend anyway.

I’m going to Vandy to get a world-class education and to leverage my opportunities. Of course, I’m hoping to have an enjoyable social life but it’s not a priority of mine.

I agree with everyone! We just have to stick together as transfers, haha. I’ve heard that Vandy tends to put transfers in the same quad, so well all be close to each other.

To people who received letters in the mail regarding their decision: My letter is at my house, and I will be looking at it in a matter of hours. What kind of letters did you receive? Big envelopes? Please describe them.

Big white envelope with Vanderbilt written in black down the side.

I’ve been poring through transfer threads of Vandy’s peer schools and it seems that most students received rejection letters. I feel so fortunate!! lol

Waitlisted! Better than I thought. Now what to do to get off the waitlist…

Nothing here in NH yet, which is really weird.

Accepted! Now to play the waiting game for Upenn…

Wow, I’m really surprised I got waitlisted compared to some of the people who got flat out rejected. My college GPA was below a 3.0 but I’ve done a lot of leadership and internship work that has provided me with solid recommendations from political leaders. Coming from a four year public university within the top 100; very musically involved and wrote a meaningful essay. I guess that’s enough to top a crappy GPA.

Any advice for waitlistees/suggestions? Does anyone know the stats of people who normally get off the waitlist (although of course it’s relative to how many transfers enroll)

My admissions counselor told me I’d have my letter in mid April, then he changed his mind and told me May 1st, and last week he changed his mind again and told me May 15th! What is happening?!

Don’t know wellesleygirl14, but like I said, still waiting here in NH too. The only thing I can think is that they’re holding until they hear back from their first round of acceptances to see how much space they have.

Eek! Good luck WaitingForSpring! Hopefully both of us will be accepted!

Hey guys I just got my letter!

I’m waitlisted yay!!! LOL better than flat out rejection. I sent in my Spring grades (4.0) so hopefully that will be convincing! I really want to know sooooon!

Has anyone gotten accepted off the waitlist yet?

@jojo - I’ve been waitlisted as well (also surprised and happy), I’ve heard that they have almost always taken a good amount of transfers from the waitlist. For those who have gotten accepted to Vanderbilt, I’ve seen a few on this thread who are putting the offer down so we should hopefully be hearing from the waitlist soon. The letter said we’d be hearing latest mid-July so I guess it’s dependent on spring grades. If you did well, you’ll most likely be hearing good news.

What school/program did you apply for?

@HPtransfer

I applied to CAS as a Philosophy major (will also be minoring in French). Hopefully the demand for that major isn’t too high!

Just mailed in my letter to decline admission. Good luck to everyone on the wait list!
