bruh same. i got into cornell and four others. when i spoke to my AO in mid-April, he literally said “i am confident you will receive your decision in the first two waves.” like i know that isnt a guarantee but like this gap between decisions for everyone is honestly ridiculous. i turned EVERYTHING in before the 15th.
I had a question. So i sumitted my application before the priority deadline but I got all my stuff to them in late march. Will my application still be considered priority?
No update for me either. I applied by March 15 and everything was in by March 18th or 19th I believe. But they just didn’t update my checklist till I emailed my admission counselor on March 30.
I submitted my app on March 14th, and my last materials are sent on April 2nd. Is this relatively late or early? I really have no idea
i have no idea tbh. i had all of my materials turned in by the 15th, so i am honestly just frustrated. i hear back from Hamilton and maybe Rice tomorrow, so i might withdraw my app if i cant get it figured out.
Congratulations! Good luck at UCLA
Congrats on Cornell tho! I first emailed my AO about the College Report a week after the 15th and he was like “Be patient, we’re still uploading, email me in a week if you still can’t see it”. Then I had it resent as soon as he asked and it took the school weeks to process it. This whole admissions process has been an absolute pain and I was already having second thoughts because of the Greek life situation.
im mad… vanderbilt is my top choice, but it really does make you feel like they dont care when you wait for weeks and weeks when other people get their decisions. why have a priority deadline if it doesnt matter when you sent your stuff in?
Greek life situation ?
Facts
many allegations of sexism, classism, racism, and homophobia as of recently. they have been considering banning greek life
I have been considering emailing my AO and saying that Vanderbilt is one of my top choices but I have enrollment deposits for other schools coming up and it would make my life easier to get a decision sooner. I don’t know if that would work tho
Yeah that makes sense unfortunately. It’s crazy that like 40% of ppl are apart of Greek life at vandy. I’ve also heard a lot about classism at vandy. Anyone know how bad it is?
yeah, my OA has been great, but I am unsure if they will actually do that for us. seems like most schools just say “put a deposit down somewhere else.” that seems classist in of itself b/c its not cheap, and most people do not have hundreds to just drop on things for whenever?
and i hate to sound petty to anyone b/c i am not entitled to anything, but this is the only school where ive seen this happen
I also wonder what the wave impact is on FA. I applied for aid and I wonder whether being towards the end of the decision pool can hurt the amount of scholarship you can get. I know that Vandy is “100% need met” but I’ve applied to other schools that said that and got vastly different aid packages.
yeah, that’s another thing. how does it not impact your decision when you’re in a later wave? seems kind of unfair considering we all submitted our apps by the deadline. they base how many they accept ON the waves so its contradictory.
Yeah. Just super unlucky for us who are still waiting. I just wish they could be somewhat transparent so we aren’t just sitting in the dark.
68% are not Greek and the numbers in Greek life keep falling. The numbers will accelerate downward. Classism is not an issue.
Since some decisions have come out already today, does anyone think that more decisions might come out later today based on time zones?
