Vanderbilt University Transfer Thread Fall 2016

Accepted to CAS for economics on Monday, here are my stats:

Highschool GPA: 3.45

College GPA: 4.0

SAT: 2250

Recommendations: HS foreign language teacher (had for three years, think it was a solid rec) and college writing prof, whom I got relatively close to and gave him more than just “smart kid” material to write about.

ECs: Real Estate Club E-board, volunteering (designed a curriculum to teach and taught it), foreign language/culture clubs (not my own), econ society, really nothing too special.

Essays: Supplement was pretty zany (kind of inspired by one of the Tufts prompts actually), and the main essay was nothing to write home about. I talked about what specifically I want to do with econ and how that could be more easily achieved at a new school.

My brother went to Vandy. I got rejected last year was was super surprised I got accepted this year, but I am pumped.

Has anybody with counselor Zeben Ashton been accepted/declined/waitlisted yet? Also has anybody been rejected yet?

Did anyone accepted get a financial aid award? I didn’t and I’m worried. Was it a substantial amount? Thanks!

@altonm I guess like 50 completed and 18 currently being taken.

Anyone know if you can still accept the offer after the deadline they give you? I haven’t visited the school and won’t be able to until after i Get out of school, which is after the deadline.

@MrSuperScore I did. It was definitely significant and confirms Vanderbilt as a can-do option financially for my family

For the people who are waitlisted, do you mind sharing your stats?

so do my chances of getting accepted diminish every week that passes?

@tuckeditkid I emailed my counselor asking for an extension but she said they don’t have that option for transfer applicants. She also said that if we pay the matriculation fee after deadline, whether there will still be spots is not guaranteed.

Now I’m worried. My counselor is Annalise Miyashiro. It seems someone already been accepted, but I still have nothing.(better than a denied?) But is my chances being lowered week by week?

@2Brown4MyOwnGood which forms have you turned in? Just fafsa and css profile? Thanks

Have any peabody applicants heard back yet?
