@YayForTransfers I’ve heard that students at Vanderbilt look down on transfers because getting in as a transfer is easier. Is that true?
@nyrider This was something I worried a great deal about before coming here. Let me assure you one thing: this has never been the case. The closest I’ve gotten was a sly comment or two from a close friend, but nothing other than that. In fact, I’ve been met with genuine interest when I announce to people that I’m a transfer; people have shown a willingness to help and a desire to know my story. Of course everyone’s experience is different, but mine has been so positive in this regard that I’ve questioned why that rumor is spread every year. I assure you again, at least based on all of my interactions over this past year, it is nothing to worry about!
Hey guys, I transferred to Vandy two years ago and just wanted to offer any help I can provide! Feel free to PM me with questions or just post them here!
I wish more potential transfers posted in here! The deadline passed. RD decisions come out soon so ours are only a few weeks behind theirs! I’m excited

I’m currently a freshman, hoping to transfer because of a major change and family health reasons (Vandy would be closer to home).

Well, my app said it was complete for the longest time and just today i went on myappvu and it says incomplete. it says my application fee hasn’t arrived however it used to be checked off and i definitely paid it. I emailed my counselor and I hope this doesnt delay my admission at all
It got fixed, then it happened again, then it fixed itself. Sometimes i log in and is takes me to Your Enrollment Services (YES) and it says I’m not authorized to visit that page. I hope my application’s place doesn’t get lost since its rolling basis admissions for transfers…
Wow it seems everyone has a strong profile but me… Good luck! And if you hear anything from the admission office, please post!
@PsychPRC For sure and don’t defeat yourself! We all have our strengths and weaknesses! Best of luck! My test scores are for sure my downfall but that’s ok there are other factors! Hang in there!
anyone have any idea when we find out about admission decisions??
Thank you Martin! Finger crossed for all of us!
Well @tuckeditkid I am not completely sure but in the past students have heard as early as April 5th, or the first Saturday in April. Therefore, I would say it is possible for some students to hear back this weekend but potentially unlikely? The next round that is potential could be Monday the 4th, but the most likely first real wave would probably be April 11th. I heard that Vanderbilt releases decisions and portals every Monday and Friday (I am not sure if this is true) but I would say just to check your VU Portal on those days past 5:30 CST. I am not going to be obsessive about it but let’s hope our decisions are in the earliest wave!
@tuckeditkid @cmartin12 It’s not much, but on admissions.vanderbilt.edu/dates/ it says that
“Beginning Mid-April, 2016 — Admissions decisions available on a rolling basis.” Although I have also seen the earlier threads where people said they got their decisions earlier than that, so anything could happen.
I’m checking mine like every day haha but I highly doubt it’ll be until April 11th ish as well
yeah hopefully we find out monday, i just keep checking hoping to get lucky. The decision would be posted on the general VU app page right? like where the application checklist is?
@tuckeditkid it’ll say something like “Congratulations, (name)!” Instead of what it normally says (2016 fall application checklist). You can see an example if you google “MyAppVU Acceptance” and go to images I think. There’ll be a “claim your spot” button slightly larger than a decline spot button underneath the congratulations. Idk about a denial though
Im hoping it comes out today, but am starting to doubt it… Has anyone heard anything??
@JPruneski8 I think if they are releasing it today, they would do so after 5:30 CST, but other than that, i haven’t heard anything… Also hoping for a fast decision! Anyone know how much time we have until we have to accept or reject an acceptance?
