Congrats future Commodores (and an early congrats to those who will soon be accepted)! I love reading these, as I am an RA in the transfer housing for next year and am excited to meet you at all. TO THOSE STILL WAITING: don’t lose hope, I know plenty of people who didn’t hear back on the first day! Good luck!
@YayForTransfers where is transfer housing going to be?
@YayForTransfers Thanks!! Just wondering is it totally random how they send out the letters? Or do those who didn’t hear back yet have less of a chance/are more rejections in the later waves?
@ek2019 I may be wrong, but I believe that most acceptances are sent out in the April waves, with your chances going down after April. Otherwise, it’s totally random. Again, I may be wrong!
@somehmonggirl from what I’ve heard, transfers will be housed wherever space is available - there isn’t special transfer housing. I believe it’s first come, first serve. @YayForTransfers may be able to correct me where I’m wrong.
Hey guys, just gonna put this here cause I’m on my phone and want everyone to see it: the plan is that the majority of transfer students will be placed in Blakemore. That probably means nothing to most of you, as you’re not aware of the dorms, but it’s a very nice dorm that’s a little off from main campus. That’s not to say, however, that all transfer students will be placed there!
Someone said that a few of the admissions counselors were gone this week. Did anyone notice of if the accepted students were from certain regions of the country ( aka from the counselors that were not gone this week)?
Do you know if sophomore transfers will be able to get parking at all?
Do transfer students have to dorm? Or can they try and find an apartment with friends who are already there?
@nyrider all undergrads have to live off campus unless they are married/have kids/already live in nashville. they hardly give out off campus living authorization from what I’ve heard.
@somehmonggirl are there apartments on campus?
Accepted!
Applied beginning of March for Econ and submitted all documents a few days before I actually submitted my application.

I was actually accepted to my first choice school yesterday too, which I was shocked about (Sterns @ NYU for global business and marketing) so I won’t be attending Vandy, but best of luck to all of you.
@Thertz360 Congrats! did you receive your decision today? thanks!
@nyrider I’m not really sure but I know that my boyfriend lives in mayfield which is kind of like an apartment (I guess?). There’s a bunch of people (sorry I don’t know how many I didn’t count lol) all have their own rooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms(I think) and a living room.
@student9616 no, yesterday. But I believe that they will be making their next round on Monday if that helps?
@Thertz360
Well done! I was keeping an eye on your results. You’ve come a long way and it really speaks to Vanderbilt and NYU that they recognize that. Good luck on your endeavors going forward!
@lclemons thank you very much! I think my poor performance in high school actually made a more compelling case for my application.
Hoping they get to reading some apps tomorrow and maybe decisions Friday if we’re lucky
I was told by admissions that I will be getting an email telling me when my decision is ready and can be checked on the portal. Anybody who has been admitted can you let me know if you got an email before your decision was ready so I can stop checking the portal nonstop? Thanks.
@transfer3353254 They send an email saying that your decision is ready. At least that’s what happened with me when I got my acceptance.
