Vandy Chances and Advice?

I realize I'm delving deep in to reach/"no f'ing chance" territory, but bear with me.
GPA-
Projected 97/98ish on a 100 pt scale over 3 years. Amazing 4.3 at frosh year school in a different state.
Will not be ranked.
Took one AP (US History) junior year and will take AP English, AP Gov, and AP Econ next year. These are the only non-math and science (or music theory and art, but whatever) APs offered at my school. It isn't too late to switch into AP bio or physics, but I don't think I'll do well in either (not well enough to get a respectable AP score or grade) and it seems that taking non-AP physics seems like a good fit for me. Definitely not doing AP Calc...lol, I'm not a mathie.

SAT-
1st Time:
690 CR
650 Math
700 Writing
=1340/2040

2nd Time:

I live in Pennsylvania and go to a small public high school in a college town that sends many, many grads to top schools, especially compared to others in the area. Silver Medal USNWR High School. Although I'm not that crazy about the school itself, the kids are phenomenal.

ECs include multiple tourney wins in debate, a 30+ hr a week job plus a rec from employer, countless hours during campaign season and a rec from the county party chair, and hundreds upon hundreds of service hours.

For this example, I'm applying ED as a poli sci major.

I know Vandy meets 100% of demonstrated need, but do they put loans in finaid packages?

Any other advice anyone has for getting in would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Apply ED, your scores are good! Challenge yourself as much as possible. Ap Calculus would be a plus. Your scores in math are not that bad. If you stuck to it, it may go well. That being said staying engaged, involved sincerely in your community will also help.

you have a really good chance at getting in ED. Vandy doesn’t put loans in financial aid packages, and they tend to be more generous than a lot of other schools.

the aid is amazing, about twice what i was offered at other schools that say the meet100% of need. your sat are good. i would only suggest writing confident essays about something you love. i think that essay are the really key…

my recommendation? Prove your math mettle another way. you have score choice and all you have to do is buy a Princton Review SATII Math level one or two book and have at it…prepare, study, take practice exams…

My son took Math Level two a second time when he only got a 680 first shot…first time he was completey cranky, tired and overscheduled…he sent a much higher SATII to Vandy in January! and was admitted RD

We have very weak AP instruction in our town…so my sons took responsibility to find ways to show their stuff on subject exams. First son raised his SAT a whopping 200 points October senior year.

The game is not up yet…go for your best…you have a lot to show on your side to be happy about already.
SATII exams only last an hour and take less effort to nail than sitting for an entire three hour plus SAT or ACT…

You have the June and October sittings to use to your advantage and you get the benefit of score choice…nothing to lose, something to gain.
