VANDY ED1ers Group

I interviewed! We talked for 2 hours and it was SO GREAT! It made me want to come to Vandy even more. She said she would write a huge report for me @_@ yay?

^ Lucky. I’ve met my admissions counselor (the person who actually reads the apps from your area) and I think (hope?) she liked me.

^ Thats really good! It is really nice to know that she has a face for you application, etc. While for many others she probably does not!

My Admissions Rep and I are from the same small hometown :stuck_out_tongue: Hoping she rooted for the home team. Never met her though in person.

My best friend is Vanderbilt EDI. Good luck to y’all, I applied ED to Skidmore and am freaking out too!!!

Ahhhh, I live in TN (memphis) so hopefully I’ll get the letter by tomorrow! I wish everyone luck, and I believe that regardless of the news, WE will ALL achieve and get into a great college.

Btw, do you guys know if colleges/admissions counselors read the posts on this forum? Just wondering :)

Probably. I’ve heard of a case where Swarthmore rescinded an acceptance (off of the waitlist) from a student because he trash-talked them for not accepting him outright. Apparently he was the only one from his state who got waitlisted there so they knew who it had to be.

Ugh I live in Tampa so I wonder how long that will take to get my letter? But I’m so nervous! I got surgery today and I’m not allowed to leave my bed for the next two weeks…so this will be the only thing on my mind. Ahh!
My stats are:

Thats about all I can think of…hopefully I get in! Good luck to everyone!!

You’ll get in! And best of luck on recovering from surgery! My grades are well below Vandy average, but my SATS are strong, I’m a NM Semifinalist, I have excellent ECs and a very strong schedule, but my UW GPA (3.25) should take me out of the running. I’m just assuming reject because it will make it that much easier to swallow when it happens. Good luck everyone!

Dantheman: Thanks! and I think you stand a chance! Also, congrats on NM semifinalist…I missed the cutoff by one point in florida and i was so aggrivated! Goodluck to you!

Yeah thank you and you too (congrats on the state championship btw). NMSF is a load of crap IMO, even though it benefited me. If I lived in NJ I don’t think I would’ve gotten it, but if I was in, say, Arkansas, like twice the amount of kids from my school would have gotten it. I’ve pretty much prepared myself for rejection, the only tough thing is going to be walking into school the next day with all the kids accepted into their dream school and me being rejected. Oh well, I will survive.

Oh thanks!! And yeah thats the only think I don’t like about NM is the way its just based off of where you live really…and oh boy did a lot of kids from your school apply to vandy ED? I’m the only one from my school

I believe 2 others did, but they applied A&S and I applied Peabody so hopefully it won’t affect it.

Oh ok well thats good! I applied engineering… best of luck to you! Make sure to let me know how it goes!

Yeah will do and same to you!

Ahh the waiting game… Good luck to everyone!

Admits- welcome! You’ve got a bright college career ahead of you. I’ll stand behind some students who have already voiced their opinions that Vandy is all-around one of the greatest schools in the world.

For those that don’t get in, don’t feel bad about it–admissions is starting to require a little divine intervention. as I’m sure you’ve all read, top schools can pretty much kick out their freshman classes and take the next full wave of applicants and end up with a nearly identical class, statistically. Don’t sell yourselves short; you’ve got the potential to do great things anywhere, certain schools open different doors, but at the end of the day, you have to walk through them yourself.

Remember to post stats today for whoever gets the letter. In or out plz

AHH im so nervous a girl in my school applied as well and i think we match up relatively evenly except she has a connection in the admissions office :(

I am the only one that applied from my school if it makes a difference.

ugh lucky… the girl at my school has a serious connection so she’s in. and i doubt they’ll take both of us :(

There’s certain schools in the Chicago area that have double digits of students in the freshman class this year. I wouldn’t make the assumption that you aren’t getting in solely because someone else from you school has a good shot.
