woops, I just read my last post and the “YAY” part was directed at you, tanabelle! I totally goofed on reading the usernames! haha. :)

How do you get to the chats? I received my invite but no reminder or anything.

ETA: Never mind, I found it. But it won’t let me go in! It says that “You have been banned from this chat event”.

Someone post what happens in the chat. I never got an invite even when I joined the mailing list, so I’m curious to know what’s going on. :P

I received a chat invitation, but got to my computer too late to attend it. :(

I too would like to know what happened in the chat!

I got an email from Vassar about the chat.

"Hello Matt,

Some students who attempted to log into the Chat Vassar event last night may have seen an incorrect message which prevented them from entering the chat. This was caused by an error in the chat software. Please accept our sincere apologies if you were not able to log into last night’s chat. If you still have questions about Vassar please feel free to contact the Admissions Office at admissions@vassar.edu or askastudent@vassar.edu.

Best,
Vassar Admissions"

I feel better now. :]

I was reading the EDI acceptance thread from last year and some kids got their letters by the 13th and the accepted kids had sky-high SATs and had above avg. SATs and some were legacy and some had hooks and some didn’t and I just had to stop because I could feel my heart bursting out of my ribcage.

One more week, you guys.

Matt- Where did you find those threads? I would love to read them.

I feel so nervous now. Good luck everyone for ED I!
I’m doing ED II … I wonder if that lowers my chances though. :(

ONE MORE WEEK!! This is going to be an intense seven (or 10) days… Good luck everyone!

Can you post the link to that? Not that I’m trying to make myself even MORE terrified or anything, haha. 10 DAYS!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vassar-college/613516-decision-thread-edi.html

10 DAAAYS. I just wish I was in West Side Story rehearsal for 240 hours straight to keep my mind of it oh my goddd.

Oh no, I got the First-Quarter Grades call yesterday- I’m terrified now, because I managed to get a C- in an AP first quarter (even though everything else was As and Bs)… I don’t want to be rejected
It also turned out they had neither my Teacher Evaluation or SAT I scores, so I had to be faxing and ordering SAT on rush delivery. Another cause for me to be unsettled.

I’m reading The Tale of Genji to keep my mind off of it. Man, just ten more days!!

Well, it’s definitely a GOOD thing that they called about your first quarter grades, so be happy about that! And they take into account how challenging a class is, so don’t worrk about a C, since it’s AP.

If Vassar mails notifications on the Saturday before the deadline, which last year was Saturday the 13th, then this year they would be mailed on the 12th…

It would make sense for them to mail it then, right? I mean, if admissions people work monday-friday, then on friday the 11th they’d be finalizing everything and some unfortunate people will get stuck with getting everything in the mail the next day/the end of that day. Which means people close to Poughkeepsie could be finding out on the twelfth, and so on…does that make sense?

Makes sense to me, HP. God willing, us West coast kids can find out at least by the 14th.

I am really hoping we’ll find out on the 12th. I’ll find out the following day, if not the day they’re actually sent, depending on how fast the Poughkeepsie post-office moves that day.

As soon as someone receives their letter, please post it on here so the rest of us can prepare ourselves! haha :)

Yeah, that makes sense.
This thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vassar-college/602048-early-decision-class-2013-thread-3 says that they were mailed by the 12th last year.
Someone on that thread living an hour and a half away from Vassar (about the same distance away that I live) found out on the 13th. A shorter wait really would be great!

Greaaaaat. So this means I should start REALLY panicking as soon as next Saturday!

Hi guys! I was hesitant about posting a reply because I was superstitious that it would give me bad luck. But I realized that replying to a thread has nothing to do with getting accepted or not! I just wanted to wish all the Early Decision-ers good luck! I hope you all have fewer daily panic attacks than I do during the next 7-10 days!

I just wanted to wish all of you good luck! I’m the parent of a Vassar senior (RD applicant) and Vassar is indeed a wonderful place.
