I cant find where to see the decisions, my link just says application check list…

Both of mine say 3pm. The email and the website. Still don’t see anything though

I can’t see anything either haha… How strange.

Nope. But it’s fine by me. 12 spots??!!

Just kidding it just loaded! Accepted woot woot!

Congrats to you!!!

Thanks!! Have you heard?

Rejected. No biggy since I got into my first choice already. Just wondering, for those who got accepted, what are your stats?

Rejected, haha. Vassar, only you have rejected me. Perhaps I should not have written my essay during the Dartmouth tour, maybe my iPhone’s autocorrect did catch everything :)

Accepted at Columbia, Dartmouth, Amherst, and Wesleyan.

Accepted! Don’t know where to go now!

Congrats hemlock! I was accepted as well. What other schools are tempting you?

barnard, wesleyan, brown, or bowdoin. i’m kinda in shock!

:O That’s amazing, you should be insanely proud of yourself! I’m waitlisted at Brown. Can I ask where you’re transferring from/what you’re looking for?

transferring from northwestern, looking for a less pre-professional environment, and an open curriculum where i can do interdisciplinary performing arts and literature studies without giving up everything else or being bogged down by tons of distribution requirements. you?

@hemlockmoby, when did you hear from Bowdoin? Was it by email?
Nice dilemma for you to be in!

I was accepted, too. Looking forward to meeting all of you guys this coming fall. By the way, does anyone know where Transfers live? Do transfers get to choose their housing, or is it assigned?

Hey guys, I got in as well!
@chess12, i was wondering the same thing about housing.
any other international transfers here? I’m from Rio de Janeiro and I’m also really excited to meet everyone! :)

I believe transfer students are placed into Cushing unless they request otherwise. I highly recommend requesting otherwise. It’s not a terrible building, but it’s in a very inconvenient location.

Hey guys, I’m a Class of 2012 Vassar grad who’s been getting mighty nostalgic reading this thread. First, congratulations to those of you who have been accepted to Vassar! You have a wonderful experience ahead of you, I assure you. I transferred in as a junior, and my only regret is not having more time there. It’s a really special environment, especially for people as enthusiastic as you all seem to be.

In response to the housing question, it is true that Cushing is where the transfers (and the exchange/visiting students) are placed. (Assuming Vassar continues to do what it’s done for the past several years.) I actually thought the setup was pretty good–coming in as a transfer can be challenging, and while everyone at Vassar is really welcoming (especially in the beginning), it helps to be around other students who are in the same boat. I’m pretty sure all the transfers are put in the same hall (we were, at least), and you’ll arrive at Vassar (along with the freshmen) a bit earlier than the returning students, so the first week or so will give you a nice opportunity to know your transfer group. (Though it looks like some of you have gotten to know each other already!)

Understandably, you’ll probably develop your own social circle as the year progresses, but it still wouldn’t be surprising if a couple of your closest friends are people you meet during that first week.

So I guess I’m basically advocating to not request a change in location unless you have some sort of extenuating circumstance. But everyone’s different; I just happened to have a fairly positive experience in terms of my living situation that first year. As far as location, yes, Cushing is a bit off the beaten path, but not dramatically so. I kind of liked it not being in the center of everything–on nights you’re looking for some peace and quiet, you’ll find you’re grateful to not be in the hubbub of the quad. And distance-wise, there’s really not any tremendous inconvenience.

Anyway, those are my two cents, but feel free to shoot me any more questions. I’m currently job-hunting, so I have a bit more time on my hands than I’d like.

Again, congratulations!

Thanks for that bit of information. How was Vassar’s Career Service department?
