Vassar is one of my reaches but I really fell in love with it so any feedback would be helpful.
I go to a public school in MA.

My essay was pretty unique and I had several english teachers read it and give advice.
How were your test scores? My DD also applied RD to Vassar and is waiting - it is so hard to wait!!! She is also a public school student in MA (Framingham).
@Jlong1220 My AP test scores were 4s for the ones I have already taken. My SAT was pretty underwhelming at a 1290 so I didn’t submit it and took the ACT instead. The wait is killing me!
@mccl018 My daughter is dying waiting too! (And me!!) She is in to her safety school, which is probably her third or fourth choice. Waiting on SEVEN more - none of them particularly safe. Her SAT is 1480, and ACT 33, so pretty solid on tests - but honestly, I don’t think test scores matter all that much. Sometimes there are so many kids they WANT to admit, they end up making choices on things like geography (more students from the midwest?) or extracurriculars (we have enough swimmers - want more musicians). That makes it a bit of a crapshoot. I remind my daughter all the time that none of it is personal - not a judgement on HER - just a decision based on what mix of students they need. As a female, non-minority kid from Massachusetts - she is in a tough demographic for the schools she is hoping to attend!
@Jlong1220 You really never know exactly what a school wants but I think we should all take a risk anyway. It would kill me to not apply and never know. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though! And good luck to your daughter!
@mccl018 Good luck to you! You have absolutely nothing to lose by applying - better to go for it! And you have a great shot at it as well!! No matter what, I am sure you will end up at a school that makes you happy.
