Hi Vassar people!
What is the best way to get from the Boston area to Vassar?
I’ve been doing some preliminary research and it looks like there are no direct flights, trains, or buses. Would most people just drive?

It’s probably a 3 1/2 hour drive. I would guess most people would do that.
There is a Vassar shuttle to/from Boston over major breaks. But I would say most people drive or get a ride. We have a very active rideshare facebook group so for most it isn’t an issue to get home if you live on the east coast.
Thanks, @lzrl177 ! We are from Baltimore, which is a direct flight to Albany on Southwest, but my daughter’s significant other is at Tufts, and she would like to have the option of continuing to see this person. She LOVES Vassar (who wouldn’t?!) and if she gets in, I think it would be a VERY strong option for her.
I would guess Amtrak from Baltimore to poughkeepsie would be the fastest/most convenient
Driving would be by far the fastest and least expensive way to get between Vassar and Tufts. If you had to take public transportation, you could take Metro North from Poughkeepsie to Harlem 125th Street. From 125th Street, you can get a New Haven Line train to Stamford Ct. and from Stamford you could catch an Amtrak train to Boston. Then you could take Uber or the T from the Amtrak station to Medford. That’s a lot of transfers, so like I said, driving would be your best option.
