VCU 2007 BS/MD notifications

nope, i'm out-of-state...

how many GMED students get the presidential scholarship? i know it covers in-state tuition only but that's still a lot....

about 10-15 get presidential
presidential covers everything including room and board and food

looking at everybody's stats, what do you think the trend is as far as acceptance goes? some people who look to have similiar stats with better SAT scores were rejected (like me).

have you guys heard anything from VCU the undergraduate program? because i only received an interview notice from the honors college/medical school, and i haven't heard anything about acceptance to the undergrad. school even though i did the fast-action app with 21 days notice. also when do we learn what scholarship we get?

spiker, i think hospital volunteering is a biggy..i read somewhere that the average for accepted students was like 400 hours of volunteering at the hospital. we both had only half that and got rejected..ahhh well..400 hours is crazy..

I didn't have that much volunteering but my gpa was high.

i think you are right, but that is unfortunate...it is weird that they base acceptance soley on hospital volunteering bc that is not a good indication of a student's caliber...

its an average 420 hours volunteering, but not just hospital volunteering. they really like that you have unique and varied volunteering. for example, i have hours from voluteering on the EMS squad and microbiology research at Sanger hall which is part of MCV (luckly, i live near richmond) but thats the gist. plus, your essay while it was only 250 words was extremely important.

and orbitz, if you haven't gotten a reply from undergrad, just call them... but if you're applying to the med program, there's no way you can get rejected from the undergrad.

and gmed kids have the option to stay where they want. the honors building are west grace and the first three floors of brandt which is right next to west grace (some people choose brandt because its a freshman building and its newer and you have roommates instead of singles)

this forum is dead...

did anybody have an interview? what was it like and what kinds of questions did they ask you?

i know- i have been trying for peopel to write stuff- esp abt interview- but nobody writes anything!!!!!

hi everyone

has anyone attended interviews for vcu yet? if so, how were they? from the letter, it says that they are fairly informal. how true is this?

i had mine so if you have any questions feel free to pm me

anyone received letter from the honors college?

yea i got in

um- the Honors College offer is NOT BINDING- i checked with the office.
But you have to accept it if you still want to be considered for GMED program.

anyone got any scholarships from vcu?
i got one. !!!!!

Hi all! In response to nurjahan, I got a scholarship too! Do you know when we find out if we were accepted/rejected from vcu's guaranteed admission program for medicine?

which scholarship did u get? presidential , dean or provost?

i got presidential =) and we find out rejections/acceptances end of march or april 1st i think
