VCU BFA Theatre Audition help!

<p>Hello everyone! I will be a senior this year, and I am looking to audition for a number of schools, but I am especially interested in Virginia Commonwealth University's theatre program. If anyone has any information on the program or tips or anything of the sort, please let me know! Thank you :)</p>

<p>President of Thespian Troupe senior year
Secondary lead role in "Anything Goes"
Lead role in "The Laramie Project"
Lead role in "All In The Timing" (Variations on the Death of Trotsky)
Ensemble in Seussical! The Musical
Enslemble in Thoroughly Modern Millie
Costume assistant for 4 plays
Member of Thespian Troupe for 2 years
Honors Theatre, Honors Acting I, II, III, IV</p>

<p>3.6 GPA
Both of my parents are previous graduates of VCU, so I am a double legacy
3 AP classes, 5 Honors classes throughout high school
Varsity softball player freshman and sophomore year</p>

<p>Don’t think any of that is as important as the audition…. that is the critical piece that no one can really predict for you. Find monologue pieces that really speak to you and make sure you have at least one safety on your list that you would be happy attending. Good luck .</p>

<p>Your HS GPA is certainly in range for VCU, so it will not be an obstacle to your being admitted to VCU. </p>

<p>In terms of the program, the audition will be what is the deciding factor. This is the case with most auditioned programs. </p>

<p>VCU has a strong program and Richmond has an active theatre community in which many VCU students are involved. </p>
