You can do it. I graduated high school in 2005 and went to Sac State and got Ws in all my classes because I hated it there. Since then I have been around several community colleges and even had academic probation at some of those colleges. I joined the military and buckled down when I came back. I was accepted to UCSC and waitlisted at UCD with a terrible academic history. Long story short, one semester won’t kill you. Like others have said from now on try to get as many A’s as possible to show them that you are capable. Don’t listen to people who tell you it will be impossible believe in yourself and get it done.

If you do decide to to move on to a CCC, make you you address the issues that made you earn poor grades at your Cal State. If you don’t, then you’ll be repeating the same mistakes.

a 3.8 GPA in HS is not impressive. I know plenty of people at my current uni who had 4.2 and 4.3 GPAs… and yet they have like a 2.7 here haha.
I had a 3.5 weighted. I’ve got a 3.5 in college as a math/econ major(while working, taking on a total of 4 internships, and taking a leadership role in two clubs)… I don’t like studying, hahaha…

Reardless, just do the best that you can and plan on retaking the courses you F’ed up in.

Also, I hope you enjoyed Edison or HBHS… go Socal people…

Assist.org will help you.

Also don’t ***** about how hard 15 units is… my roommates are doing 28 and 32 as Electrical Engineering and Physics double majors. Don’t whine, don’t make excuses, make results. a 3.8 HS GPA isn’t good, it’s OK and your lousy academic performance at a CSU(which is arguably EASIER than even a CC) can attest to that. Get a job or two, work 40+ hours a week and take 20+ units then complain. If your friends aren’t calling you crazy, insane or hard working, you’re not working hard enough. If they ARE calling you crazy, insane or hard working and THEY are going nowhere in life, you’re not working hard enough and you need better friends. Get your **** together, don’t blame a financial crisis that you’ve known about for the last 4 years and work hard. If your CC doesn’t have the classes you need, go to two or three and maybe take a few online classes. Things CAN be done.

I honestly don’t give a flying **** about your academic history or your friends.

But thanks anyway for the input.

and

@md21887 What was your GPA and what ended up happening to you? If you don’t mind me asking. Did you end up getting into a UC? Did you retake all those classes you messed up in?

i had all W’s at CSU and was only there for one semester, 3 CCC gpa were less than 1.5…my current CCC i have a 3.2 gpa now and didn’t retake all the classes i failed…i was accepted to UCSC and waitlisted at UCD for this current application cycle

@md21887 where else did you apply to? Besides UCSC and UCD? Do you think you could find out your total GPA? You should be able to find it by asking them. I’m just curious as to see what your overall GPA turned out to be with all those W’s and F grades on your record.

I can do really well and get the grades and GPA I need here at CC.

I’m just so worried about the past record.

I got 3 F’s and a D my freshman year at CSU… I was out partying too much. And I regret it.

Freshman year GPA was terrible too. I almost don’t wanna say it.

Probably the best stuff written on CC for a good while. In my own personal opinion.
