I want to ED to either UPenn's Huntsman Program or Columbia University (Columbia College).
I speak fluent Chinese and my reading/writing is intermediate (this is in regards to the Huntsman Program), and my Spanish is also intermediate (I take AP Spanish and I average about the same or slightly below the heritage speakers in my class for reading assignments. Speaking and listening is another matter).
I like the idea of the Hunstman Program and it seems great to me, because I want to go into international business, or just work as a Financial Analyst or comparable job at a foreign branch (probably Asian) of HSBC (or comparable bank).
However, I love the atmosphere of Columbia and that the HQ of several large banks are located in the city, where internship opportunities are plentiful, especially for CU students.
Opinions?
I don't think anybody's really gonna help solve my problem, but here's hoping. Haha.

If you don’t have a single clear first choice, it is not a good idea to apply Early Decision.

I am applying Early Decision to either school because I would definitely go to either school. The problem is that I like both a lot, rather than I don’t like either enough. So I think Early Decision is a good option for me because I would LOVE to go to either, but I’m just not sure which one I love more. I would have few regrets either way, which would stay with me even if I applied regular.

Have you visited them?

Do you have the money to pay for these programs or will you need financial aid? If you need financial aid, you apply to both in the RD round so that you can compare the offers.

I actually just visited UPenn today. I visited it a while ago in my freshman year but I didn’t remember it that well.
I think I’m actually going to apply to UPenn now. The Huntsman Program and Wharton are way stronger in what I want to do. I also walked around the area around it, which was pretty cruddy more than a block out. But I could always just take the SEPTA to a better part of town from inside campus. It’s one of those “island” schools, where the campus is nice but the area around it is crap, unlike Columbia.
I figure if I really can’t stand the place, I’ll transfer my second year, but I doubt that will happen. Philadelphia seems like a city with enough to do, if not world-class like NYC is.
If I do get into Huntsman/Wharton, I will miss Manhattan though. But I think 4 years isn’t that much to sacrifice for an education that caters pretty much specifically to my interests.
And no, I don’t need financial aid.
