So my counselor is uploading my transcript electronically to the Common Application. I want to send in a paper copy to each school just in case.

I also took classes at a community college and I want to send in that transcript too.

Would it be okay if I put the HS transcript and the CC transcript in one envelope and then send it to the college?

Or should I send them separately, each directly from the school?

The colleges I'm applying to are:
Northwestern
Duke
Stanford
Harvard
Yale
Brown
UPenn
USC

You can send them in one envelope. Also, uploading transcript electronically to Commonapp is a one time deal, right? The counselor only needs to upload it to Commonapp once and not to every school., right?

Mhmm it’s a one time thing.

Need to check with the school. Both schools we are familiar with required transcripts direct from the institutions that issued them.

^Exactly, check to see if transcripts need to be “official”, aka sent directly by your high school/community college. I have a feeling that transcripts must be sent by the institutions that issued them. In case of your high school transcript, it should be sent along with the Secondary School Report.

As long as your counselor uploaded an electronic copy, it should be okay, just that the copy you send in yourself may not be taken into account, that’s all.

If by “USC” you mean University of Southern California, you definitely have to send a paper copy because USC does not use the Common Application.

And yes, for USC you can put the sealed, official transcripts in an envelope and send them in. Write your name and USC ID# on the outside of the envelopes. Toss in your recommendations and unofficial test scores (yes, they want you to send in an unofficial copy of test scores even if you have already arranged for official scores to be sent) and save on postage.
