Very Interested in Colby

I'm really interested in Colby!

I plan on raising my ACT score: I took the test the first time not knowing ANYTHING about its format (I earned a composite score of 30), but now I have a book that I'm using to study. I took the SATs twice, but I found that my scores were average (600 to 690 for each component) and I was better-suited towards the ACT. I would really prefer to NOT take the SATs again.

Do you think that my NOT playing a varsity/junior varsity sport in high school will effect my admissions chances? I have been an active dancer for almost 15 years.

Thank you for all of those that respond, and best wishes to all of you!

This is my profile for high school!

i'm pretty sure colby doesn't look at SAT's if you choose not to send them... but your scores are far from terrible. if you raise your ACT to a 31 or 32 you should be a-okay.

i applied to colby this winter and was accepted, though i'm not attending in the fall. a very good friend of mine wasn't into sports at all... she did golf for two years but that was IT... so, i think you should be fine. plus, they're going to want diverse students anyway... they don't want an entire class of varsity athletes =P so, on your application... make a note of how dance is something you have done for a long time, have had a huge commitment to, and is something you're passionate about.

i'll also throw in that after i was admitted... i received a letter from the dance and theatre departments on campus because i expressed interest... so there would be a opprotunities for you to continue dance if that's something that is important to you...
i think i might even have the letter somewhere, i could give you the contact information for the director... if you wanted. just PM me!

best of luck!

merrr... i forgot to put in the sentence that my friend who did golf was accepted... just to clarify. =]

Thanks for the encouraging words. I visited a college fair and spoke with the Colby representative, and I feel ready to apply to the school!
