I'm a little surprised by how little contact there's been between DC and my son since his ED admission in December. Should he expect to not hear much more until after the completion of the RD process in the spring?

I don't think there is very much for them to tell him right now, and I would imagine that this is getting to be the busy time of year for the admissions dept, which has thousands of RD apps to review. I'm sure he'll get lots of mailings once the whole incoming class is in place--class registration and roommate forms and so on will presumably come in May.

Yeah, I haven't heard so much as a peep since I sent in my RD app in December.

My D got a letter in mid-December from the admissions director stating that she had read her (RD) application with great interest & was looking forward to receiving the rest of her materials (she took forever to do common app supplements!). Other than that, nothing. I am not surprised, though, due to the volume of apps they get. D has been admitted to 3 other schools (1 rolling, 2 EA), and all 3 have contacted her in some way or another about once a week. Another RD school has called a couple times. But it's Davidson ... they don't have to do the PR some of the other schools have to do!

Yeah there is really not much for them to send. They've allready given you your financial package and acceptance. They will send you some stuff about Odyssey, roommate preferences and a personality test, an orientaton package, a cat card deposit form with information about meal plans, maybe you will get all Davidson general mailings, but thats about it. Then there is a four day orientation which really helps both parents and students transition from summer and home to college. It will all work out in time, there is nothing to worry about.
