Hello all,
so I am a High School senior who is going to graduate June of this year and have quite a few problems that I am having a very hard time working out.

Stats-
3.83 GPA
1900 SAT
AP credits
200+ Hours of Work Experience
Palestinian
Male
[Just threw in the last two, I know they don't matter]

Basically, I have wanted to be a doctor my whole life- a surgeon being my top choice.
I did very well throughout High School, save for sophomore year in which I made the mistake of biting off much more than I could chew, and coupled with some personal situations, ended up getting only a 3.2 GPA. [still, my overall is now 3.83]
I had planned on going off to Cal Poly SLO, or even a UC right after graduation and begin my premed program.

My problem is- I wasn't accepted into any of the schools I really wanted [aiming too high I guess] and I am now stuck between a rock and a hard place-
I could go to a local community college for 2 years and then transfer out to a UC,
or go to a local "mediocre" university for all 4 years [seeing as to how it is not very easy to transfer out of there whatsoever].

I can basically choose either or, and the way I see it is-

If I choose community college to take care of Gen Ed., I feel as if everything I did in High School was for nothing, and that attending one may jeopardize my chances of getting into one of the more prestigious schools I have always sought after, whereas attending the university means that I go to a school that is nothing special, but still carries the university name- better looking, although much, much less likely to be able to transfer out of.

No matter what happens, I still plan on attending Med School after all is said and done, but I would really, really appreciate any input you guys here may have on this situation-
what do you think would be the best route?
[sorry for the long post :x]
