I worked my butt off for the SAT prior to taking it. I hit 2,000 a few times, but mostly stayed in 1900's. Writing was certainly my strong point, scored 740-780, but somehow I got a 560?! I'm really flabbergasted. I feel like a complete and utter IDIOT. I got a 1600 I can't believe I did so bad on the writing section, and overall for that matter. Sadly I have a 4.0 and 4.43 W right now. I'm going to revamp my SAT study schedule again. Anyone have any suggestions on where to begin? I still cannot believe I missed so many MCs on writing. I thought I'd only miss 2-3. My parents are going to kill me :(

gosh i hit 2220 for the first time in Dec, and retook aiming for 2300++

Heres what I got: 2050 for Jan, ■■■ i should have cancelled it, i was overly confidence

Seriously I do not deserve to exist in this world

@wpfjtmwls. Sincerely I am the idiot. I studied for about 3 months before the SAT and started to score consistently and was nearing 700’s for all three subjects, but I don’t know what happened during the test. I’m astonished at my score and I feel like I should be in remedial classes or something. I feel like a waste of matter. This was my first SAT, but I Should’ve at least broken 2,000. My hope for chances at an ivy are gone. Sorry for the ranting everyone. I had to prattle and get this off my chest. It’s not off, but still. I hope I can revamp and hopefully score 2200 ish on my next SAT, which I know College Board is going to investigate since its over their “score threshold.”

i should have predicted more carefully and cancelled my score. No hope for the schools requesting all scores I have taken. Score choice is my best chance. Hopefully, if i study hard, i will bounce back up to 2300++ next May. Hope you would get the score u want. btw, if you suspect that you had huge mistakes on the bubble sheet, you can request for re-grade which costs 50 dollars, but they would look at your mistakes and get those points back.

If you were scoring these numbers before the exam, several times, on real exams, then you were too nervous on test day. You’re not an idiot. Retake when you feel more prepared, and don’t let your nerves get in your way next time.

I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I guess I’ll have to start studying again. I still don’t see how I dropped 370-400 points on the real SAT from my practice tests and stuff. Is there anyway I can cancel this score at this point or something to hopefully improve my chances at ivies if I score well on next SAT?

No, you can’t cancel the score now. But you don’t have to send it to your colleges. They’re just going to know that you took the test, but they won’t know its score, so it’s all good!

I think you should look at the answers in the discussion thread. If you feel that you should have gotten a much higher score, then perhaps you made mistake in writing the answers. You should also consider paying for a re-score if you think something is wrong. If your answers are indeed incorrect, just try again. Before you tell me you don’t remember the questions and answers, look at the thread. It’ll juggle your memory.

I looked at them after taking the SAT. I was pretty confident that I had only missed around 2-3 :(. I’m not sure my parents will be willing to pay for the re-score. :(

hey haphazard are you an international student?

@DMA. No. Why?
