It's a really basic question but I just need to make sure. I'm a junior in high school and I'm trying to do whatever I can NOW to go to UCF.

If I apply early (Fall term – May 1 of next year i presume), how much sooner will I be able to tell if I was accepted, rejected or deffered? The sooner I know, the sooner I can improve some things (SAT, ACT, etc.)

For example, if I were to apply in August or September (I'll be a senior then), when will be the estimated time that I'll hear if I was accepted or not?

Thanks everyone! =)

Personally, I applied 2 weeks ago and got accepted 4 days later…which was really fast and unexpected after waiting 4 grueling months to get a rejection from UF. I think it has a lot to do with your scores and ECs, though. I’m guessing that if they see a “higher scoring applicant” (I had pretty high scores when compared to the average accepted UCF student) which there aren’t too many of, it is faster to make a decision on. If you are in the “average” range, which they will have a much bigger group of, it will take longer for them to evaluate each applicant, thus allowing for a bigger time slot of waiting time. I would encourage you to apply early though, because they have a rolling admissions…so slots can fill up pretty fast! I applied after I got rejected from UF because I needed a safety net while I wait to hear from FSU, and lo and behold, I check 4 days later and I was accepted! Good luck!

Okay. I just wanted to make sure because I’ll be taking the SATs in May and June and I want to apply to UCF asap so I know if I need to improve on my SATs. I have a few back up colleges but I’m not particularly excited about them… I’ve visited UCF once and will be again March 10th and I’ve already fallen in love with it. I really wanna make sure I can get in!

herbsgirl, why are you waiting so long to take your sat’s?

Due to financial reasons, I wasn’t able to take them before. But now I can and I’ve been studying really hard =)

That’s alright! I took my fist SAT May of my junior year, and I actually did better on that one than I did the one I took in my senior year. I would definitely take the ACT too–I completely messed up one section and still got an awesome score! Some people do better on SATs than ACTs, so I would recommend at least trying it once! :)

Yup =) I’m going to do the SATs in May and ACTs in April and then I wanna do them each again about two or more times =)
