I am going to be a high school senior next year and was wondering what high school math I should take next year - either AP Calculus or AP Statistics. I heard that you need Statistics for your undergraduate degree if you want to go on to vet school, but I also heard you need physics (which is another class I'm taking next year that's largely based on calculus.) Any advice on what math to take next year would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Vet schools usually require statistics instead of calculus. Also, the required physics class will be the algebra-based version, and not the harder calculus-based one, so you could skip calculus entirely if you chose to. You should be aware that some vet schools don't accept AP credit in place of the requirements, so you should check a couple of vet schools for their policies.

Nope; they usually require both.

I'd take AP calc because most science degrees require calculus, and I'm presuming you're majoring in some science related field. Prior experience is vital, whereas I think it's less vital with statistics
