Hello,
Currently I’m an active duty military member nearing the end of my time in service within the next year. I am looking to apply to the University of Texas At Austin, specifically the College of Liberal Arts for the Fall 2019 semester. After high school I was accepted to and completed 2 semesters and 30 credit hours of coursework at Texas State University. This leads directly into my question. As I understand it test scores are not considered for transfers, but with my college GPA being over 4 years old, how much weight will it hold in the admissions process? Will a four year old GPA be considered as equal a reflection of myself as one that is current?
I have read through the UT system white paper on “Best practices in admissions process for undergraduate and professional programs”, however I am not sure if they are applicable to myself as a transfer student. I am extremely confident that my resume, letters of recommendation, and essays are above average. My only concern in the process being the GPA. I realize it's really early and this may not be the proper channel for the question, but I’m just trying to feel out the situation. Any input is very much appreciated, and I thank you for your time.
