D looking at Vets in the Wild in Africa - has anyone gone on this? Trying to decide if worth it for a pre vet major or is this just a waste of money.

This program looks worthwhile, but pricey when you consider that the $4200 doesn’t include airfare to South Africa. Did your D hear about it through at school?
My D is considering a 4 week stint in South Africa - two weeks service work at a cheetah rehab, 2 weeks of “adventure travel” with ISV

From what I can tell it is around $3000 and includes all transportation, but don’t quote me on that - we’re still trying to get details.

I don’t know if this type of travel would be any more advantageous than a documented summer internship at a local vet clinic. We’re still debating.

Hard to know. Our D has worked for a local vet for over two years. Some think that she should maintain that position no matter what - others think she should broaden herself. Wish that crystal ball would work!
