I was under the impression that Pedersen would be teaching Chem 3B this summer, but apparently it is Viernes. Does anyone know anything about him??

I took the class with him. He’s a fair exam writer.

I’ve taken some upper division ochem courses taught my Viernes. He is a fair and patient lecturer. I found his office hours particularly useful. Be sure to study a lot. 3B is difficult during the fall/spring semesters, so I would imagine that the compressed length of summer courses will only add to the difficulty. Last summer, I happened to walk by a group of students that had just taken a 3B test and actually saw some people crying :/

Wow. That doesn’t sound very reassuring… I’m scared now but I guess that’s just how it is.

my friends who took 3B with him liked him.

I am taking 3BL with him right now; I would have preferred Pedersen, but he is not bad.

Following the postulate that Pedersen > Vollhardt (an idea that I firmly support), I would say Pedersen > Viernes > Vollhardt, though this is just my opinion.

I’m a new transfer admit and am planning on taking his Chem 3B and 3BL over the summer…I’m sure the course will be fine. Ratemyprofessor has good ratings, says he has a fair grading scale, although I’m sure you checked those out too.

I’m thinking this course will be no sweat actually considering the same equivalent course at my community college is 26 hrs/week for 8 weeks, and this one will only be 16 hrs/week…Sounds so much easier! At least time-management wise.

frechet >>>>> pedersen>viernes>vollhardt.

frechet is pretty good i guess, i just hate some of the idiotic questions he puts on exams

lol yea…i know… sometimes. ><

Does fretchet even teach chem 3b?

i dont think so.
