Would anyone have stats on enrolled students at Villanova? Their website is showing only admitted student data. Also they only reference that 1670 freshmen were “targeted” --does anyone know the number of the actual incoming freshmen class?
@luloobee I would not know about the stats for enrolled students. Not sure if many schools publish their stats for enrolled students. I do know they Villanova keeps very close to the targeted number of students for each class. My S at Nova now and his class is just about 1670, plus or minus a couple of students
The enrolled results come out when the CDS results come out. Villanova posts these under the statistics and reports area of their website. These same results are shown at College Board website.
They have released the acceptance rate already - it was 35.9 percent this year which is down from 43.5 percent last year.
@Andi75 You can actually find the info on the Villanova website. It’s an enrollment report. For 2016 is was 1677 and for 2017 it was 1710. It has the enrollment for several other prior years as well.
I’m not sure what the number is that they will target for this admitted class but there isn’t much dorm space left. There are so many triples as it is. Can’t imagine they can go up much more.
pkchamp89 How do the triples get assigned? Does getting your deposit in fast help avoid one? I really think they should show freshman dorms, but they don’t .
@Andi75 it depends on what type of dorm living you sign up for but getting in your deposit earlier does help. Most of the living and learning communities seem to be tripled, especially the popular ones like the leadership LC. Stanford is the largest freshman dorm and has doubles but it seems to be the least desirable dorm for some because it is not conducive to people getting to know one another. Many team athletes reside there as well. My S lived in a double in Stanford last year and did like it but he didn’t have the same experience as his friends in the other freshman dorms. Because the other dorms were smaller and were set up so students interacted more he feels he missed out a bit. The students in those dorms were much closer. So, maybe a triple isn’t the worst. I guess there are trade offs with everything. You just have to decide what is more important.
You can see the rooms. Go to the Villanova website and look up first year housing. Go to each building name highlighted in blue and click on it. It will show you a photo. Sometime you can even go to YouTube for videos. Some students post videos of their rooms.
^adding to above. On the residence life page the majority of the first years are on south campus. Click on any of those buildings and you will see photos and specs for the rooms.
Triples are definitely the way to go. The rooms are considered “converted triples” but they’re bigger than the doubles for sure. The learning communities live in the smaller dorms and are mostly tripled. Stanford is definitely the worst dorm from my own experience and most others I talked to. Most people are excited to get the doubles, but the bathrooms are nicer, the rooms are bigger, and theres 100% more community in all the other dorms. If you’re kid is accepted, definitely apply for the leadership learning community. Everyone loves it and that dorm is in my opinion the closest and the most fun.
