I have heard South Campus is definitely the place to be fresh. year. However apparently is it done by when people pay their deposit? I have just been accepted off the waitlist and dont want to be on main campus isolated from other freshman. Is there still a chance I will get put in south if I pay my deposit in the next couple of days? Anybody with knowledge please help. ALSO what about the leadership community it is housed on SOuth and I am considering doing that how is that ???? anyone help urgent pleaseee

Here is the link to the Office of Residence Life for Incoming Freshman. Yes, it does say that housing is assigned based on date of enrollment deposit. If you are desperately concerned about where on campus you will be assigned housing, I would consider making a phone call or sending an email to Residence Life. They are the only people who can tell you what you want to know with any degree of certainty.

Yes, leadership learning community is on south (in St. Monica’s Hall). Best decision of the year. Met awesome people, and 99% of my friends lived in the building with me. You have a class (ACS) with the same group of people all year and you get really close with everyone. Tomorrow I’m actually leaving to go to North Carolina with 3 other people that were in my ACS class and like all other 8 people from St. Mo’s for a week of celebration and crazy alcohol related shenanigans.

if you have asthma or something like that
you can request a room with AC and all those are on south (or fedigan which is still pretty sweet)
you’re new so as long as your parents bug them about it (if it’s medically supported aka even mild asthma), it should happen.

Hey, this is a year later, but im kind of in the same boat as you. Im wondering what happened or what you did. Did you live on southern campus? or were you on main?
either way, how was your experience living in either campus?

…does the asthma thing work? i actually have asmatha. idk if air conditioning effects it much, but id use that to my advantage

I just finished my freshman year at VU and lived in Stanford. My boyfriend sent his deposit in SUPER late and still was placed in Stanford. Another of my friends sent her check in very late and was tripled but in St. Mo’s.

I know that Good Counsel on south (which was mixed soph/fresh this past year) will be all sophomores this coming school year so I guess that means less room for freshmen?

yea they are gonna be tripling most of the rooms on south next year. However, a lot of the rooms are big enough that a triple isnt too bad. Living on South is great! I know people who lived on main campus had fun too though, so dont worry too much about it!
