i won't lie, i really want to do it for prestigious college transcript blah
but i would also like to know where i stand stately, nationally, or internationally.

<p>Okay, first of all, you're doing violin for the wrong reason if it's just for prestige. However, enter your local competition. If you do well, you may qualify for provincials, do wello there, and you qualify for nationals. (this is how it works in my town). Anyway, other than competitions, you may want to audition for symphonies, and prestigious youth orchestras and camps. However, I would advise you to not continue with music if you don't really love it.</p>

<p>if you can't handle harsh advice, then don't ask them on cc. But I never said to NOT continue with music, I said don't do it if you don't truly enjoy it. I only got the impression that you're only doing music cause you have to because you put so much emphasis on the prestige factor of it. In any case, i'm glad you love the violin, I play and love it too. Not initially, but after a a couple of years i did.</p>
