What are my chances of getting into Virginia Tech engineering school?
I’m a Junior In Highschool with a weighted GPA of 4.1. I’ve taken the Sat once with no studying and got a 1700 with a 640 in math. Im taking an sat prep course now that is expected to raise my score a few hundred points. I haven’t received my Act scores yet. I’m president of 2 clubs and have 100+ community service hours. I’ve taken AP us history, AP psychology, and AP Literature. I plan on taking AP calculus in my senior year along with many other APS to increase my GPA. I’m ranked 75 as of now out of 486 in my class. I’m also out of state.
If you can bring your SAT score about 100 points, then I’d say you are a very strong candidate. I was admitted with very similar stats into the school of engineering, so my guess is that you are a shoe in. Also if you write some strong essays as well, my guess is that you could consider VT your back up (even though it’s a great school). Keep doing what you’re doing. Good luck!
What’s your UW Gpa? If it’s above 3.5(which it probably is) and you do raise your score in your second sitting of the SAT you should be fine
