So I am pursing an electrical engineering and trying to transfer to Virginia Tech. My gpa is a 2.9 I got D this fall which ruined me and a C on my Vector Cal class. I am gonna get my associates degree in the spring but what are my chances of getting in
anybody out there
I, as well as several of my friends, transferred into Virginia Tech last fall. Unfortunatly, most of us transferred in with 4.0s at our previous institutions. The lowest GPA of a transfer that I encountered was a 3.3 (with an associates degree). With a 2.9 the chances aren’t too great.
The transfer acceptance rate for VT is about 50% but you need to contact the admission office to see if you meet their minimum criteria. You might be able to improve your GPA in the Spring term and get a late decision. Is it possible to retake the course you gota D in to replace the grade?
Yeah I am retaking that class this spring. Hopefully will raise my GPA but it will still show on my transcript though so I’ll probably call them. Thanks
I am also worried because I got good grades 1st semester but ended up getting a C in calculus which really brought down my GPA. Do they look at mid-semster?
Hi! I’m a sophomore at a small private college in VA and I applied to transfer to tech for the fall 2016 semester as a political science major. Currently I have a 3.63 gpa, I have completed the English requirements, and I’m about to finish the math and science requirements. I am very involved in multiple organizations and I think I wrote w pretty good essay. Any body have any idea what my chances could be?
