I am out of state for both and intend on majoring in engineering. The cost will be approximately the same. What are some pros and cons of both. Which is more prestigious. What does each school have to offer that the other may not.

VT Engineering more prestigious. NC State, better location.

Honestly, I think location is all about preference. If you prefer the city, NC State is the place, but if you like nature/small towns, go with Virginia Tech. And honestly, I’ve been to NC State on multiple occasions, and I didn’t get a good vibe from the students on campus (I’m just guessing I didn’t feel that “spark”, this varies between different people.). However, I got a friendly vibe from VA Tech. But honestly, I suggest you visit both and see where you “fit in” more. If you already have visited, they are both decent in Engineering, so go with the campus that you think has more to offer you besides engineering. Go with your gut. Good luck!

by location should have said, easier to get to.
