Hi. My school is attached to the Houston Community College (Its a weird charter school lol) and we take college classes there in addition to our high school ones... Well the high school doesn't offer HS Calculus, or AP calculus, so I have to take calc 1 and calc 2 at the college. Maths at the college are kind of serious because they cover a lot of material in one semester, so its important that you pick a good, thorough teacher. Unfortunately the calc 1 teacher is horrible, and I don't want her to be my first experience with Calc (Going to be an engineer, haha).

So my friend told me about virtual school (specifically in houston, though similar programs may be elsewhere). Here's a link: http://vschool.houstonisd.org/info/index.html (If linking is against forum rules let me know).

He took health there over the summer to get it out of the way, and he said it worked well. Apparently it is largely self studying with online guiding, and you have access to a teacher by phone to help you if necessary. He said that his friend took APUSH there over the summer and got an A, which I guess is good to know.

So I want to take AP Calc AB there over the summer. I'm not concerned with taking the AP Exam (tho I probably will the following May), I just want to take this in lieu of Calc 1 so I can be ready for Calc 2 the following Fall semester. Do you guys have any opinion on this particular program, or have you been in similar ones? I'm good at self studying; that's not the concern. I want to know if this program is very reputable.

Thanks!
