Visit advice?

We're doing a last-minute East Coast spring break college visit trip - it's a whirlwind trip for a bunch of reasons and our time on each campus is limited. So in visiting:

Vassar
Brown
Yale
University of Pittsburgh

...any advice on "must-sees" or any other commentary/comparisons would be greatly appreciated!

Our daughter is a senior, planning on majoring in cognitive/neuro-science or something similar, and won't know if she's in at Vassar, Brown, or Yale until we're on the trip. She's got great stats etc., etc. so hopefully she'll have the opportunity to choose from some of the schools above plus some others closer to home (Midwest).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Bump … i’m also interested in this regarding Pitt and Vassar

I hope the weather stays nice for your trip to Vassar and your other colleges.

While on Vassar’s campus, definitely see the library. the art museum, the chapel, the observatory on the hill and Skinner music building. The deal clincher for S1 was the peaceful area around the lake and the nature walkway. It was there he realized that he did not want to go to a college with a city campus. There is also Vassar farm and a golf course. So even though Vassar is technically in Poughkeepsie, it is actually in the suburban area of Arlington.

Just across the street off campus is an area of cute shops and restaurants - you can have lunch there. Also a Greek diner with huge portions is two blocks away.

If you have time , take a walk across the Hudson on the pedestrian bridge. You have beautiful views up and down the river, can watch the trains to NYC go under the bridge and see the mountains. It is popular with everyone of all ages.

The Vassar campus really sells itself. By any measure, it is lovely. I recommend staying at the Vassar Alumni House if it has availability. It is very nice and inexpensive and right across the street from campus. Stop random students and ask how they have enjoyed their experience at the school – they will tell you what they think!
