S and I are visiting Emory next week. What do y'all recommend as must-see? Any questions that need to be asked? Suggestions for lunch? thanks

The ultimate Atlanta collegiate burger and chili dog drive-in http://www.mapatlanta.com/atl_varsity.html Not really Emory but still- you gots to go. (Hey,blue we're pointing the extended cab north to Wash U next week. We'll compare notes upon our return.)

Take a walk in Lullwater Park on the Emory Campus, go through the Carlos Museum on the quad ( the restaurant in the museum is pretty good), a lot of students grab a bite at Everybody's down in Emory Village ( the village area is very small, but has what's needed--most kids go in to the City, areas like Buckhead, Virginia highlands or Little 5 Points, or shopping at Lenox when they want more)

By the way--you realize you will be visiting the week before the new students hit campus? It might be rather quiet with the only ones on campus being the people preparing for freshman orientation. This year classes start really late--I think Sept. 1 ?

boys"

yeah, we know. Unfortunately, it's the only time we'll be in the 'hood, so gotta make the best of it. Thanks.

blue--

I'm sure you'll enjoy it any way! Maybe you'll see my son! He's going down early to set up his apartment. He's also doing some tours for the admissions office and leading a FAME group with one of his favorite professors.

If you stop by some departmental offices, it might be a good time to try to talk to some of the professors in prospective majors--they will probably be there getting ready for the upcoming semester, and they won't be plagued by a long line of students seeking help.

Have fun! Let me know if my son can answer any questions for you.
