Visiting IU-Bloomington

So I recently got admitted to IU-Bloomington as a transfer student with 30 credits and a cumulative 3.85 gpa. I really want to visit the campus, but I don't have any money for a flight ticket and I don't think I will drive 10 hours just to visit. Does anybody know if there are any ways to get free plane tickets to tour the campus? Thanks.

well I am sure you could find a buyer depending on what you are selling.......

Definitely call the office of admissions, explain your situation (can't afford it because of _________ a legitimate reason), asking for discounted plane rates, and maybe they'll help you out. I know that for some students they fly them out if they are recruiting them, and if not you just speak of your financial status.

Seems to me that if you do not care enough to drive the distance from NJ- which is where I am from that you will not want to be able to afford the time and cost when you have to come home for breaks, etc. Perhaps you should consider another school. IU is a great place- the 12 hour drive we took out there was great and the opportunities are fantastic. Make the sacrifice or go to school in state

Does anyone know what the best place to stay is for an overnight visit? I would like my daughter to stay on campus, but I want to stay in hotel nearby. Any suggestions.

iu memorial union is best i tink its cheapest too.

We are visiting next week-son is doing a Freshman Forum for accepted students as well as an overnight in the dorms. I am staying at the Indiana Memorial Union. I would recommend booking as far in advance as you can. I booked 6 or 8 weeks in advance and they were lamost full for a weekday visit.

stay at the travel lodge, its cheap

Ive heard they have the biggest student union in the country with bowling and everything.

Thank you for your suggestions
