We're planning a visit to Yale-flying into Hartford. What is the best mode of transportation to New Haven, if one does not want to rent a car and drive there?

From Hartford, you should probably use Connecticut Limo, which runs bus services directly to Yale. See www.ctlimo.com

If you take Connecticut Limo, ask to get off at Phelps Gate. The major hotels near the Yale campus are in walking distance.

Thanks so much. That is a big help.

I have lived in CT for many years and an very familiar with both the airport & New Haven, and I STRONGLY recommend that you reconsider your decision not to rent a car. Bradley Airport (the Hartford airport) is in the middle of farm fields and very easy to drive to & from. You take the connector road (very well marked) straight to I-91 south, get off in New Haven at the Trumbull Street exit and drive straight to the admissions office parking lot. It will take about an hour, whereas CT Limo will be a complete nightmare. Traffic in New Haven is never bad.

veteranmom,
Thank you so much. This really helps. We lived in western CT several years ago. I think I can do it. The CT Limo may not be such a good idea.
