I'm finally visiting Pitt this week during my spring break. I'm really excited. I've grown to love Pitt just from virtual tours, surfing CC and the official site, but now I have the chance to see if I get that "wow" feeling.

A boy from our hs is going up to visit. What a small world; his mom grew up in Pa., a couple hours away from Pittsburgh, and her sister and dad both went to Pitt. She told me she is one of 5 sisters and they have an annual sister reunion in Pittsburgh 'cause they love the city so much. I think they time their reunions near the Three Rivers Festival and stay downtown to enjoy the activities.

So I just got back from my trip to Pitt. Basically, I loved it. I could definitely see myself there. My top choice has been U of Maryland for a while but I think Pitt has actually surpassed it.

I drove up Tuesday morning. What a drive. I've never seen so many trucks on the road before. It was pretty nerve racking trying to pass them through the windy highway. hah. After checking into the hotel, I went up to Mount Washington and ate at Station Square. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was around 70-75 degrees and sunny w/ a slight breeze.

On Wednesday I took the official tour. I just loved everything about it. The campus is perfect...green + a city. It's exactly what I wanted.
Later, I went to CBA for an information session. My mom liked Penn State's business building a lot better than Pitt's. I mean, Penn State's is really nice, but it also has a lot of students. Pitt's business has around 1750, so I got the impression you'd receive a lot more individual attention at Pitt than at Penn State. I really liked that aspect of it. I tried to meet w/ someone from the Film Studies program but everyone was busy. It was ok though because I visited the office and they gave me some specific information on courses and things like that.

Overall, Pitt seemed to have everything I was looking for and I loved it!

im so glad i went to visit pitt back in october. i was actually going to not go but i went...and now im enrolled. it was just that great. walking around on campus that day i just knew it would be great for me. its closer to home than i had expected to be going (an hour) but it definetly beat everything else i had in mind.
